  • As the name suggests, Consumer laptops are primarily designed to address consumer requirements – Music , video, internet surfing ,basic usage etc. 
  • These would further have subcategories like Basic, Premium, Gaming, Light weight etc. 
  • Due to cost effectiveness, most companies embark on their IT journey with consumer laptops. 
  • Corporates too offer consumer laptops to their entry level staff. 

SMB Laptops :

  • 1 step of upgrade from the consumer laptops is the SMB products. 
  • All brands have laptops specifically attuned to SMB usage
  • The build quality is relatively better. 
  • Options of OS – Windows SL, Windows Prof and DOS ( giving the customer the flexibility of loading OS of their choice )
  • They have options of warranty upgrade to 3 years and ADP ( accidental damage protection )

Business Class Laptops

  • It is recommended that corporates / enterprises buy business class laptops – Thinkpads from Lenovo | Probook from HP | Precision from Dell
  • The build quality is much superior to other categories
  • These have further sub categories based on the profile of the user / software to be run / security features required etc.
  • Options of OS – Windows SL, Windows Prof and  DOS ( giving the customer the flexibility of loading OS of their choice ) 
  • They have options of warranty upgrade to 3 years and ADP ( accidental damage protection )
  • Options of priority support 
  • Options of 5 years warranty
